In this June Community Update, the Climate Restoration Alliance community gathered from around the world to mark the end of our first six months of preparation for scale-up — and the beginning of a more active phase of building the global climate restoration movement and scaling the climate restoration industry.
The session focused on CRA’s 25-year mission to help restore the climate by 2050, with the next five years identified as a critical window for organizing, scaling, and demonstrating real progress. We reviewed CRA’s three core “engines” for climate restoration: climate restoration pathways, people-powered movement building, and industry/finance infrastructure.
Key updates included the launch of Eddy Carbon Research as the implementation partner for localized ocean fertilization. Following a successful incubation by CRA, Eddy Carbon Research is led by Peter Fiekowsky and the former CRA LOF Team.

Peter reported progress on the LOF pilot, scientific papers, patent work, EPA permitting, buoys and sensors, and fundraising.
We also shared updates on the Togo Bamboo Center and the emerging Togo Climate Restoration Center, following a land security study that will help guide next steps with the Togolese government.
The meeting also highlighted the growing people-powered side of the movement: the social media team and global calendar, the Ambassador Program, grassroots campaign tools, youth and elder engagement, and the emerging Rotary Climate Restoration Initiative.
CRA now has over 60 Climate Restoration Ambassadors across 24 countries, with momentum building toward much larger participation by 2030.
The update also included a preview of the dashboard technology being developed to track climate restoration capacity, funding, ambassadors, and campaign progress over time.
The session closed with a powerful discussion on whether the climate is “beyond repair.” The shared answer was clear: the climate is not beyond repair if we choose action, coordination, and commitment. Rather than spending energy arguing with denial or resignation, CRA is focused on building the people, projects, science, funding, and global partnerships needed to restore the climate together.
