2026 World Environment Day Art Contest

Overview

To celebrate World Environment Day 2026, the Climate Restoration Alliance launched an international art contest inviting artists to submit original, hand-created works exploring themes of climate restoration, biodiversity, and environmental hope. Participants were asked to share the Alliance’s message across their social platforms, turning each artwork into a vehicle for grassroots climate advocacy.

Participation

The contest drew 26 eligible entries from artists across 8 countries, with submissions open from late May through early June 2026. India led participation with 11 artists, followed by Pakistan (5), Philippines (3), and Kenya (3), with additional entries from Bangladesh, Georgia, Russia, and Peru. 12 of the 26 artists were under 18, demonstrating strong youth engagement with the climate restoration mission.

Artwork titles submitted ranged from “The Sea Is Not a Dustbin” and “Defying Extinction” to “AI Doctor Healing Earth” and “A Tomorrow We Cannot Breathe”, reflecting both urgency and hope.

Each artist shared their entry across up to five platforms. Combined engagement across all eligible artists totaled 10,009 interactions.
