Elie Nzabanita lives in Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Uganda. He witnesses the daily realities of climate change, water scarcity, food insecurity, and environmental stress. These experiences shape his work as a storyteller and filmmaker, and he remains committed to using storytelling to amplify the voices of vulnerable and displaced communities.
Through his initiative, Ndoto Caption, he works with young people to tell stories that restore dignity, identity, and hope. He believes storytelling is a powerful tool to drive awareness, connection, and meaningful climate action.
He is a Rotaractor in Rotaract Club of Nakivale Rubondo, district 9214.
Ndoto Caption is launching Stories That Heal the Earth, a 3-month program targeting refugee youth between 15-25, designed to empower youth, foster climate awareness, and inspire positive community action through storytelling. Activities include documentary production, photo essay competitions, community debates, clean-ups, and home garden campaigns. The project leverages the Ambassador of Climate Restoration role to inspire credibility and attract support while enabling measurable environmental and social impact.
