Nkanta has over 15 years of experience in nature conservation, community education, and community forest restoration and management. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Tropical Research and Conservation Centre (TRCC), a Nigerian NGO founded in 2001 and focused on natural resource management, indigenous knowledge preservation, sustainable agriculture, community livelihoods, climate change, wetlands, ocean and mangrove restoration, and forest conservation.reforestationworld+2

Across his career, he has worked with local communities to conserve primates, turtles, manatees, and community forests, while also participating in workshops, trainings, and conferences across Africa, Asia, and Europe. His areas of interest include environmental management, wildlife conservation, sustainable agriculture, and collaboration with local and Indigenous people to improve livelihoods.
