Climate Restoration Is Moving Into Scale-Up Mode
The Climate Restoration Alliance’s August 27 Mission Update marked an important shift: from preparing for scale to beginning the scale-up itself.
With participants registered from 20 countries, the webinar shared progress across the three engines of climate restoration: solutions, people, and finance.
Highlights included exciting developments in Localized Ocean Fertilization, including new scientific evidence and the path toward a full-scale research program; progress on Positive Polar’s ocean restoration work; and the emerging Togo Bamboo Center, envisioned as a demonstration platform for bamboo, biodiversity, circular technologies, sustainable development, and eventually large-scale replication.
On the movement side, we shared the continued growth of the Climate Restoration Ambassador network, the launch of the Grassroots Campaign, and a major step forward with the Rotary Climate Restoration Initiative, beginning with a pilot across Central New York’s 101 Rotary clubs and designed for global expansion.
We also introduced the next evolution of the Grandparents Fund for Climate Restoration — building a funding engine capable of using philanthropic and catalytic capital to demonstrate, de-risk, and ultimately unlock much larger investment in climate restoration.
The next five years will determine the next 500. The work of restoring the climate by 2050 is moving from vision to implementation — and the movement is growing.
