I am committed to facilitating conversations toward minimizing the progressive destruction of our earth and the air we breathe.
My goal is to model and influence my family, friends, and community to always keep the health of our environment in mind in both our long-term planning and in our everyday activities.
I am a retired orthotist/prosthetist, raised in The Bronx, but have had a love for the outdoors since childhood. I have trained and competed in just about every outdoor sport that doesn’t require a motor. I now work part-time with BROEP (Black River Outdoor Educational Program) in central NY, teaching and coaching school-age youth in the life skills of mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, XC skiing, snowshoeing, and being good stewards of our environment. I have recently extended this work with community outreach programs within our inner-city urban populations.
This has served to introduce families to these same outdoor skills, getting them exposed and comfortable in the woods, to facilitate conversations about preserving our natural resources and clean air. This is my specific area of focus along with urban tree planting and restoration via a collaborative City of Utica and Utica Rotary Club project I initiated four years ago.
