1. We’ve Missed the Net Zero Exit.
The global goal of reaching net zero by 2050 will not restore a safe climate. Even if we stop all emissions today, the CO2 already in the atmosphere will continue to destabilize ecosystems and amplify disasters, leading to unimaginable loss of lives, ecosystems and capital.
Despite trillions spent annually on energy transition and “climate action,” atmospheric CO2 is rising faster than ever. Climate disasters are accelerating.
Governments are working from a climate playbook of the 1980s, focused on emissions, rather than restoring the climate. They are not tasked with securing a livable future for our children.
That responsibility now rests with us, as parents, grandparents, and global citizens with the means to lead.
2. Our Goal is Clear.
We all want our children to inherit a safe climate, like the one we grew up in. But no government, no media outlet, no corporate leader is authorized to set such a goal.
Our goal is clear: to restore the climate to pre-industrial CO2 levels—300 ppm—by 2050.
Nature shows it’s possible. Earth has removed over a trillion tons of CO2 before every ice age. We can replicate those processes at scale — and at a cost of less than $10 billion per year.
3. We Have a Roadmap and a Plan.
The Climate Restoration Alliance has developed a practical roadmap grounded in mimicking, harnessing, and accelerating natural carbon removal systems.
We now know how to restore a safe climate. We are scaling up the Climate Restoration Industry – a collaborative ecosystem of ventures to collectively remove 60 Gt / year of CO2.
As CO2 levels are restored, climate and weather will return to what they were a hundred years ago. Billions of lives will be saved, biodiversity restored, and humanity can flourish for millennia to come.
What we need is leadership and funding to execute, from those not constrained by outdated institutional charters.

This is not just a climate issue. It’s a civilizational issue. Restoring the climate means giving our children the same gift we received — a stable Earth, a thriving society, and the ability to dream about the future.
