OIF Steering Committee
To develop the OIF Roadmap for scaling Ocean Iron Fertilization (OIF) within five years to achieve 60 Gt/year CO₂ removal, aligning science, operations, finance, and governance under the Climate Restoration framework.
This session will define governance, workstreams, and answer questions such as:
1) How do we develop OIF so it’s ready to scale in 2 year?
2) What needs to be measured, and how do we measure it?
3) How do we collect the data and analyze it?
4) How do we report, who needs to be informed, and how do we engage the media?
5) How do we identify, validate and secure ~50 sites by 2030?
6) What permits do we need, and how do we get them?
7) Where do we get the iron, and what is the best way to disburse it?
8) How do we know if something goes wrong, and how will we respond?
9) How do we ensure continuous and sufficient funding?
10) What partnerships do we need?
11) How do we manage ~50 sites and ~25 ships x 365 days a year for 20 years?
12) What questions are we not yet asking ourselves?
In this 90-minute session, we will establish teams and schedules to prepare for the OIF Roadmap development kickoff in January 2026.
