Everyone wants to restore a proven safe climate for our children— one that humans have actually survived long-term. Nature has done it and we will do it too when we commit to it.
The Grandparents Fund for Climate Restoration is the philanthropic fund of the Climate Restoration Alliance. It funds the critical Climate Restoration projects, companies, and organizations of the emerging Climate Restoration Industry that will restore a historically safe climate for our children by 2050.
The Grandparents Fund for Climate Restoration has identified a funding gap for climate restoration projects – it is extremely difficult for visionary and passionate teams to fund the initial stages of project development.
We therefore provide seed funding to climate restoration projects to cover the project development cost, de-risk the project, and prepare it for further funding so it can be implemented. We ensure that these projects, companies and organizations are aligned with our vision and mission, and our 2030 goal: The Climate Restoration Industry operating at full scale (60Gt/year CO2 Removal).
The projects we fund fall within these categories:
- Atmospheric Restoration – Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Removal and emission reduction, with a focus on CO2 and Methane.
- Ecosystem Restoration – Land Restoration & Ocean Restoration.
- Resilient Communities – Food Security & Regenerative Agriculture, Green Energy Resilience, Sustainable Waste Management.

- Triple bottom line business model: environmental, social, and economic impact
- Potential for replication & scale-up
